Is Counselling for me?

Counselling is an opportunity to be heard, to share with a trained person some of the difficulties that you encounter and to be supported to make positive changes to your life.

I work in a respectful, empathic, understanding and compassionate way, providing a confidential, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences. By reflecting on these experiences you can learn new ways of doing things and progress past what you feel is holding you back or causing you difficulty.

I will work creatively to meet and support your individual needs and objectives. People come to therapy for many different reasons. Together we can explore past trauma, current difficulties and future anxiety to enrich your life in the present moment, enabling you to reach your potential.

Some of the difficulties that people attend therapy for include:

Depression
Anxiety
Grief
Stress
Work stress
Study and exam stress
Coping with change
Relationships
Sex and sexuality
Trauma
Sadness
Anger
Illness
Low self-confidence

Addiction (drugs,alcohol,spending)
Eating disorders
Obsessive compulsive behaviour
Self-harm
(Survivors) Victims of abuse

And any other issue that affects you: this list is far from exhaustive and any issue that is important to you will be handled compassionately and respectfully
